Hard, dehydrated and cracking feet – this is what happens to most of us after winter. My feet look bad only when I forget about moisturizing or when I use wrong products, which luckily happens rarely. To be honest, my feet were totally unprepared for this spring. A little bird told me that this year’s spring surprised you too. You wanted to jump into evening sandals but after taking off the socks you saw your heels that… were also surprising, but in a negative sense of course.
No worries! I’m here to help you get super smooth and soft feet. Leave out all weird tools like pumice stones or foot files. Swap them for exfoliating socks! Not sure? Okay, let me explain to you how this treatment looks like so that you will find out whether exfoliating socks are an option for you.
What are exfoliating socks?
To me, there are other ways for smooth feet that give way better results than the pumices and files. Try exfoliating socks that will help you remove hard dead skin to reveal new smooth moisturized and brighter feet. As you probably know, these aren’t regular socks because they are made of foil and are filled with an active solution. And the solution is made from acids that break down dead skin which – let’s be honest here – looks and feels terrible.
Exfoliating socks: directions of use
Using exfoliating socks is far from being difficult. All you have to do is put them on clean and dry feet and go to sleep. I’d recommend you do it at bedtime, but you can also do it during a day, provided that you have a few extra hours. If you want to take the most of this treatment, bear in mind the following rules.
- Put exfoliating socks only on clean and dry feet.
- Read the instructions provided on the packaging and always follow them.
- Don’t let the socks sit longer than needed (check the info on the packaging).
- Take the socks off and rinse the cosmetic immediately if you feel some discomfort, stinging or itching.
- Don’t use exfoliating socks too often. Once every 4 months should do.
- Remember that skin will keep exfoliating for a few days after the treatment. This is perfectly normal and proves that skin is producing new cells.
- After taking the socks off, rinse the cosmetic residues thoroughly and put on a moisturizing and nourishing foot cream.
Exfoliating socks: results
What are the effects of using exfoliating socks? Trust me, they can be pretty spectacular, especially if your foot skin is dehydrated, callous and thick. Exfoliating socks leave skin perfectly smooth by removing dead epidermal cells as you sleep.
There is one thing I’d like to draw your attention to. If you neglect your feet, meaning that if you don’t moisturize them and skip getting rid of dead skin, the heels will break and this leads to open wounds and infection. That being said, if you don’t care whether your feet look good or not, bear in mind that feet exfoliation treatment may save you from some nasty skin diseases.
How to enjoy smooth feet for longer?
If you want to extend the lifespan of the effects created by exfoliating sock, I’d suggest making use of foot scrubs on a regular basis. Have you ever tried a foot soak? This treatment feels so good. Fill a basin with warm water and throw in sea salt or baking soda, pour some essential oils and plant oils like argan oil, almond oil or avocado oil. While talking about plant oils, try adding a few drops of it to your foot cream. The oil will create a sheer layer that will protect the foot from losing water.
Good luck!
